Tour de Lake


Join us for Tour de Buckeye Lake’s 45, 26 or 8 mile bicycle Tour circumventing beautiful Buckeye Lake! The 45 and 26 mile Tours this year include a 4.1 mile stretch along the new Buckeye Lake Dam. The 45-mile option includes a ride through picturesque Dawes Arboretum. Net proceeds from the cycling event benefit the development of multi-use trails around Buckeye Lake.


Bike Buckeye Lake’s Tour de Buckeye Lake offers three distinct bicycling courses throughout the day, all circumnavigating beautiful Buckeye Lake. All rides begin and end at theBuckeye Lake Winery– 13750 Rosewood Drive, Thornville. Be sure to plan for the live band playing at the post-cycling party!

There will be two rest stops for the 45 mile and 26.5 mile routes that include water, snacks and restroom facilities. Rest stops will be located at Brooks Park in Fairfield County and at North Shore Boat Ramp in the Village of Buckeye Lake, Licking County.

All routes will be well marked with arrows and signage and police cars with flashing lights will be present where traffic needs alerted to riders. A route instruction sheet will be provided at registration for each of the three rides indicating turns and distance between turns.

A Crimson Cup Coffee truck will be onsite during registration serving your favorite caffeinated beverages 7:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Crimson Cup is generously donating 10% of all coffee truck sales on Saturday to Bike Buckeye Lake. When we thought having a coffee truck couldn’t get any better!

•  All riders are required to wear a helmet.
•  There is no mass-start, and you can go at your own pace.
•  Your ride begins after you complete registration.

Pontoon Water Taxis:

How many cycling events are you aware of that offer pontoon water taxis?! That is one of the many unique attributes of Tour de Buckeye Lake.  If you would enjoy breaking up your ride by stopping for food and drink at local establishments, we are making it easy for you. Bike Buckeye Lake is providing Tour de Buckeye Lake riders with a free water taxi service!

Pontoons will be running every 20 minutes during the ride to transport you, and your bike, from the North Ramp, and from Papa Boo’s to the Buckeye Lake Winery.
Pontoon Water Taxi Hours of Operation:
From North Ramp to the Buckeye Lake Winery: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
From Papa Boo’s to the Buckeye Lake Winery: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Must show your Tour de Buckeye Lake wristband. 

Post-Cycling Party:

Following the Tour there will be a post-cycling party with live music, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Buckeye Lake Winery.
Enjoy the lovely lakefront view, excellent selection of food and wine plus craft beer from Buckeye Lake Brewery.

One post-cycling party just isn’t enough for our riders and friends!

Buckeye Cantina in Fairfield Beach will open at 2 p.m. on August 24, serving all day drink specials. Drink specials include: $3 Bloody Mary Bar, and $5 32 oz pitchers of Corona Light, Sangria, Long Islands and Rum Buckets (Oh my!).

Also at Buckeye Cantina, the band Flu’z Acoustic will be playing from 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m., followed by DJ/karaoke starting at 9 p.m.



Bike Buckeye Lake is a 501(c)3 grassroots group of volunteers who have a passion for outdoor recreation, promoting healthy lifestyles, creating wellness, economic development, improved transportation, education and fundraising opportunities in our beautiful, natural environment. With these amenities both local families and distant visitors will enjoy Buckeye Lake as a destination location.
