Goal: To install a bypass north of OH 204 to enable hikers and bikers to travel from Shell Beach Road to Lake road without riding on or crossing OH 204..
Goal: To support efforts to build a boardwalk on the land around Maple Bay to connect Harbor Hills and the Lancer Rd Extension Trail (#5) to the Buckeye Lake Dam Trail .
Status (as of 12/22):
Preliminary engineering and feasibility study complete. $10,000 Funded 50/50 by Bike Buckeye Lake and Licking Park District).
Original plan called for a significant amount of elevated trail/boardwalk. Plan updated to move the trail to land to reduce cost to build and maintain
Goal: To get riders and hiker off of Lancer Rd by connecting the end of the TJ Evans Recreational Trail at OH 40 (by Lakewood HS) to Cristland Hill Rd (between Freeman Memorial Drive and Columbus Ave) with a multipurpose trail.
Status (as of 12/22):
Funding approved.
November 2022 – Old rail bed is being cleared
To be paved in 2025.
Licking Park District will maintain trail extension once completed.
Cost estimate: $1.2 million (2020 dollars) – Funding secured, ODOT TAP Grant in 2022
Goal: To support ODNR efforts to pave trails running along Buckeye Lake peninsula to ensure handicap access.
Status (as of 12/22):
ODNR installed 3 limestone trails in 2021-2022 (Brooks Park and 2 @ Fairfield Beach) enabling people to bike or hike these peninsulas with great views of the lake.
Next step: securing funding for paving for the trails and bollards to keep vehicles off of the trails

Detailed engineering feasibility study commissioned and to be completed by the end of 2022. Funded by $200k of federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality(CMAQ) funds through LCATS
